PERBEDAAN INTERNET DAN WEB

Sebenarnya, istilah “internet” tidak sama dengan istilah “web”. Kedua istilah tersebut mungkin sudah menjadi satu kesatuan yang sulit untuk dipisahkan, karena orang biasanya beranggapan bahwa internet adalah web, atau sebaliknya.

Padahal, web dan internet dua hal yang berbeda. Internet adalah jaringan (fisik) yang terkoneksi atau terhubung dengan jutaan komputer yang menggunakan protokol yang sama untuk berbagi/mengirimkan informasi (TCP/IP). Dalam kenyataannya, internet adalah gabungan dari jaringan-jaringan yang lebih kecil.

Sedangkan web, atau World Wide Web, adalah koleksi dokumen multimedia, atau berbagai media, yang dimasukkan ke dalam jaringan internet dengan menggunakan protokol HTTP.

Kata kunci pembeda yang tepat untuk membedakan antara internet dan web adalah; internet adalah hardware, sedang web adalah software. Sedang aplikasi yang didukung oleh internet di antaranya e-mail, telnet, ftp, instant messanger, dan lain-lain.

è In everyday statements of necessity, have to is used more commonly than must. Must is usually stronger than have to and can indicate urgency or strees importance. In (c) : the speaker is simply saying, “I need to do this and I need to do that”. In (d) : the speaker is strongly saying, “this is very important!”

f)    He  has to (hasta) go to a meeting tonight.

g)   I have got to go now. I have a class in ten minutes. à informal

i)     I have got to go (I’ve gotta go/ I gotta go) now.

I have to / have got to / must study.

k)   Past

I had to study last night.

 When use in the negative, must and have to have different meanings.
